Thursday, February 19, 2026 (9:00 AM - 11:59 AM) (EST)

Description

*Compliant with FIRA §207 Basic Flood Insurance Course as published in the Federal Register,/ Vol. 70, no. 169:9/1/2005; updated through 2015.

In this 3 hr. detailed course, agents will learn the history, products & policies, general rules, claims process, and rating through the NFIP which would allow agents to better inform their customers. They will also receive clarification of the most recent and upcoming NFIP changes. Agents will be better able to advise their insureds on the intricacies of the flood insurance policy.

FEMA and State Departments of Insurance have taken various actions over the years to establish training requirements for insurance agents who sell and service flood insurance under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), as outlined in Section 207 of the Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-264).  The following material is a representation of documents published by various states. https://www.fema.gov/state-actions-implement-flood-insurance-training-requirements-insurance-agents For the actual documents, please contact the appropriate state department of insurance.
