An Insurance Horror Story - HoardersWednesday, September 16, 2026 (12:00 PM - 1:55 PM) (EDT)DescriptionThis class will look at characteristics that lead to hoarding and examine reasons why insurance companies may not want to insure the increased risks hoarding can bring. It will take a look at some famous hoarders in history, and the obsessive need to keep items. We will discuss some of the different types of items that are hoarder and the general issues they can cause. We will review actual insurance claims involving hoarders and discuss other possibilities that could lead to claims, whether damage to the property or from the property. We will discuss how carriers can try to address the problem and discuss differences that make these unique claims handling situations. Click here to register

IARI has a new registration platform to register for live classes. To receive member pricing, you must confirm your email or use your previous username and password to confirm membership.
CIC & CISR classes are provided through a marketing arrangement with MAIA. Clicking on these classes will redirect you to the MAIA website. CANCELLATION POLICY:To receive a full refund, IIARI must receive a cancellation request three days (3) before the class and any study material must be returned. Requests received within the three (3) day period are subject to a 20% cancellation fee. "No Shows" forfeit the entire registration fee.
