Description: Both home-based business owners and teleworkers use their homes as more than a residence. In addition to the average individual, family, and household loss exposures, they also face business-related property and liability loss exposures. Whenever someone works from home, personal and commercial exposures are intertwined. However, many business-related exposures go beyond those contemplated—or covered—by unmodified homeowners insurance policies and other insurance policies commonly owned by individuals and families. Those exposures often seem to "fall into the crack" between personal insurance and business insurance. Too often, they are also uninsured.
